Spending time in nature is GREAT for our wellbeing - and so is creative activity!

This is a mindfulness-based space to help you

  • enjoy time in nature

  • nurture your own creativity

  • awaken your senses

  • let go of tension

mindfulness practices to explore

1) Mindful walking

Take time to enjoy your steps fully. This practice helps us to release tension and draw in nourishment of gentle movement.

2) Park poetry

Allow yourself to be inspired by the world around you and get your creative energy flowing.

1 ) Looking around you, choose something to observe for a moment. Take your time.

“I see...”

2) One by one, explore your senses.

  • “I hear...”

  • “I touch...”

  • “I feel...”

  • “I imagine...”

Do you taste or smell anything?

3) Begin weaving a poem that captures how you feel in this moment. For example:

Birdsong fills the air,
A smile appears,
The grass is soft,
I feel grateful to the earth.

Clouds float past
So free in the sky
My imagination flies with them
Anything is possible!

3) Pausing and Noticing

In between any activities, take a moment to pause and allow yourself to be silent in nature.

What do you notice?

4) Visual treasure hunt

Explore to discover the treasures of this place.

There’s no need to pick up anything - you can simply collect the treasures with your eyes.

Can you see?

  • a feather

  • four different kinds of leaves

  • a pine cone

  • a butterfly or moth

  • a leaf bigger than your hand

  • a leaf smaller than you hand

  • a tree with rough bark

  • a tree with smooth bark

  • three different kinds of birds

  • a seed

  • a young tree (shorter than your knee)

5) 5 minute meditation

In this short mindfulness practice we enjoy the energy of a gentle smile.

Find a comfortable seat and let your heart be warmed.

There is a bell to start and end.
