Welcome

I hope that this is a true refuge for you.

This one hour of guided practice has three invitations:

  • to rest our body

  • make peace with our mind

  • to nurture our heart

Please create a little haven for yourself and quieten any possible devices, notifications or other interruptions.

A snuggle blanket or extra layers are good, as we’ll be still for a while.

You might like to have a hot drink or water.

You might like to have paper and pen (or art materials) for your own self-expression.

Take a moment to make yourself really comfortable. You may like to be curled up or sitting - whatever is most appropriate for you is perfect!

Pause whenever you need more space, so that you can explore this at the pace that is right for you.

May the sunlight of your tender attention bring warmth, wisdom and bright hope to your heart. Thank you for practicing together.

With deep gratitude, Orlaith

There are two poems shared during the practice:

1) In the great silence of this moment

Howard Thurman

I abandon all that I think I am,

All that I hope to be,

All that I believe to possess.

I let go of the past.

I withdraw my grasping hand from the future

And in the great silence of this moment

I alertly rest my soul.

2) Always we hope someone else has the answer

Lao Tzu

Always we hope someone else has the answer, some other place will be better, some other time it will turn out.

This is it. No one else has the answer, no other place will be better, and it has already turned out.

At the center of your being, you have the answer: you know who you are and you know what you want. There is no need to run outside for better seeing, nor to peer from a window.

Rather abide at the center of your being: for the more you leave it, the less you learn. Search your heart and see the way to do is to be.
